Hi friends!!

I’ve been feeling a strong sense of community and closeness recently within our little squad here, and it’s amazing! From the interactions I see from others on Discord, my DMs and emails, and everyone sharing their excitement in the hobby any way they can…I see the passion, excitement and spirituality flowing freely.

One common theme I’ve been picking up on, within myself and from others in the community, is listening to when the timing is right for certain things. You can totally power through, or at least attempt to power through most struggles and difficulties blasted your way. You can persevere, be a force to be reckoned with, and by golly, complete that mission come hell or high water! Orrrr you can really listen. Listen from within, and hear deeper rhythms and harmonies. Listen to your own desires, and listen behind them.

I’ve been guilty of trying to push through when the time may not be right for this and that, but I’m trying my very best to listen. And I’ve noticed when I see or hear others in my circle choose to listen and pivot rather than power through, things just…work out. They work out better for that specific task, they generally lead to a more centered headspace and overall more enjoyable perspective on life. I’m learning from these wonderful souls and have noticed the same in my own life as well. I’m crazy excited about some of the projects coming up here soon, whether just results from experimentation, new things hitting the shop and fun updates all around. And they will come! When they’re ready. Most of this type of work is influenced by energy, and I’ve been picky with the energy that is infused into these projects. If I listen and am told the time just isn’t right, I save it for another time. It’ll be there. And I’m right where I need to be. So are you. Wherever you are, whatever is going on in your life and however far ahead or behind you think you are….you’re EXACTLY where you’re supposed to be right in this moment. You exist and I’m grateful for that.

I had the pleasure of going kayaking with our very own @MIKE recently! What a refreshing way to connect and share some quality time together. Absolutely perfect weather, amazing views, and believe it or not, we stumbled across a gaggle of cows! Finding a cow half stuck in the mud while I’m yakkin’ down the river was NOT on my bingo card, but what isn’t these days. At least I thought he was stuck, but after exchanging a few moo-moos, he explained everything was alright and he was just trying to enjoy some cool sludge away from the heifer for a moment. Get it buddy.

I’ve also been taking some long nature walks recently, where I’ve been able to unplug, relax, and dial into some excellent walking meditation. I’ve been saying for years that meditation doesn’t need to be in any special place or in any specific seated form, but I was not practicing this myself. Meditation can be had just about anywhere except while operating heavy machinery (please) and nature is one of the most enjoyable places to get it on in my opinion. Get yer meditation on! Leave the phone behind! And now here are some of my favorite flowers I stopped to smell on one of the times I did NOT leave my phone behind: (but for real, experience the freedom of no phone outside the house sometimes)

Ooooh and I am getting to know one of the deer families around here a bit better! I used to have this fella named Ned come into my backyard and ask for food a couple years ago. I fattened that boy up real good like and he told his friends and family (as he should). It got to the point where I would open my squeeky back door (actual door ya gutterminds) and they would emerge out from the woods to get their treat. They have since moved on to bigger and better things, but I’m pretty sure these guys are direct descendants of King Ned. It’s the way they look at me…they know.

I can’t be certain, but based on the knuckleprints and scat trail, I’m thinking these guys made their way to the mycelial graveyard. Now that I think about it, this may be a reason why they look at me with understanding. Might even be why they have full on conversations with me. Wait, who is eating mushies from the graveyard? We share around these parts. Interestingly enough, I haven’t been finding any mushies from the mycelium I’m leaving behind, just some other oddballs. I think Ned’s crew is stealing from my stash. Oh well. I suppose I’m creating an environment for other mycelium to flourish.

Anywhoooo, the cows and the fuzzy antlered deer and the flowers and allll things nature are how I find peace and disconnect for a bit. We live in an insanely insane world these days. News and frequencies and energy and obligations and all that life has to offer can have an effect on us…some more than others. And if we allow it, it can take hold and push us down. Sometimes it feels like it has the power to keep us there. But I encourage you to find what gives you…yes, YOU, peace and serenity, and make time for it. Or if you’re like me and don’t always make time for it, at least listen when your soul taps you and says “yo…now is NOT the time for that” and go to your happy place. When I’m hiking through the woods or in the presence of wildlife, THAT is my reality. That is quite literally the ONLY thing happening involving me, at that moment. No bombs, no algorythms, no bills, no judgement….just my happy place. Find it.

For someone like @devilsinmydetails (quick shout), it’s imagining, writing, prompting, creating this amazing magical fantasy that I’m pretty sure will be shared with the class at some point. When the time is RIGHT! This is his happy place. And also becoming the happy place of all the characters he involves in this sacred space as well. In a world where everyone feels numb, cold, hardened, zapped and drained, The Mycelial Veil brings us all together and allows nothing but pure conciousness connection and straight up VIBES. More to come soon…or eventually…or not! Enjoy the journey, not the destination good sir. We love ya buddy and I’m thankful you share your imagination with us <3

Shipping still showing crazy delays! It’s like Christmas in June for some reason. Packages may be stalled more than usual, but they’ll still get to ya. If you need an update or confirmation your order has shipped, call my beeper!

Thanks to a brilliant success story by our very own @ed, we’re now experimenting with some substrate for the poo lovers! Many exotic species, most notably Pan Cyans, love the nutrient rich substrates that include that stanky poo. He did some digging (pun slightly intended) and experimenting on his own and found THIS IS THE WAY! This will eventually show up in the shop after I’ve had a chance to test it thoroughly, but for the time being, feel free to add a note (at checkout with your order) on the regular CVG offered in the shop and I’ll send the nutrient dense substrate! Keep in mind this is for non-cubensis types, such as Pan Cyan, Ps. Subtropicalis and the like. Not saying don’t experiment with others, but cubes specifically typically enjoy a lower nute blend than this.

And speaking of experimental substrates, our very own @UnderdogArtisan has been playing around with perlite added to the sub for some extra aeration and ventilation for the substratation gyrations! I happened to have a massive supply on hand from an accidental order a while back, so same applies…will likely have as an official item in the shop when through testing, but for now, available by request on the normal CVG items.

Quick note about giveaways on Discord: I love to accommodate anyone and everyone with these giveaways, but due to shipping cost and unreliability of getting through customs, these are currently for US addresses only. A 1lb box runs around $30 for shipping alone…5lb can be around $100, and some of these gives are heavier than that, running $200+ overseas, with high potential of getting stuck in customs and never actually arriving. If an international myconaut wins one of these, I’d be happy to send some prints or swabs your way…pretty much anything that can fit in a standard envelope and not have to pass through customs screening. If you order agar plates, temp changes can sometimes cause condensation to form on the lids. Condensation is no problem, and will not affect the performance of the plate, but it’s still nice to have a clear view of what’s going on in there! I know for me, condensation is kind of annoying. If it’s still cold in your area, consider bringing your order into the garage or similar area to gradually warm up before entering your loving home to help reduce the drippity droplets!

As of WEDS 6/10, this is what is good to go for supplies! Almost everything in the shop is “made to order”, meaning I make it once I get the order, so it’s as fresh as can be when you get it. I can plan ahead for some of the more popular items, which is what you see on this list. Whatever is left over at the end of the week, I typically use for myself or hand out to some local myco peeps. Always fresh = worth the wait.
