Welcome back, chakraligners!

Still can’t believe we FLEW through the chakras already! Time ZOOMS these days, right?!?! Thanks for being a part of the chakra journey over the past couple months and for sharing your progress and benefits with me! I’ve had a solid number of people reach out since last week, saying they are working through them again to give a little refresh as needed and I LOVE that! We spent a week to focus on each chakra, but now that you know the basics in how to work with them, what they govern, etc., a tune up of specific chakras that need attention should come much easier. Always feel free to hit me up for chakra talk or to share tips and tricks!

I’ve been presented with some interesting ups and downs lately. The ups? Full send em! Up, up and awayyy!! Not difficult in the slightest. But sometimes the downs can take a bit of a toll on our mental, physical and spiritual well-being. Obviously, we can look around out in the world and confirm it’s mostly insane. Pair that with regular life curveballs, and it’s easy to get lost in fear, anxiety and despair. This isn’t meant to be all doom and gloom, it’s just the reality of the world we live in and the struggles we’ll continue to face, even if “all” of our current issues get resolved. This is life.

Most of the things happening “out there” are uncontrollable to us as individuals. I’m not saying bury your head in the sand and be oblivious to all things happening outside of your bubble. I think it’s good to have a balanced understanding of what’s happening and be informed, to an extent. Stand up for what you believe in and speak out about the injustices of the world today. But if it’s consuming and taking control over your psyche, I strongly recommend doing things that absolutely positively without a doubt nourish your soul. Take back that control and SPREAD THE LOVE. Evil is showing it’s nasty face in many ways today, and it’s all too easy to get locked in to that cycle. Almost like the news presented is designed to keep us in a state of fear and pin us against each other (weird!). But love will ALWAYS overcome.

The most effective way we can navigate these times is to keep our spirits high. Appreciate the small things you find pleasure in. Spread love, as much as you can, any way you can, as often as you possibly can. This can be in the form of a multitude of different activities, hobbies or even just thought patterns. I know for me, working through the chakras helped balance my internals and set me up to take some of these ups and downs with a little less attachment, be less worried about the things I can’t control, and just roll with the punches that life throws my way. And I KNOW deep down in my soul, that many of the practices over the past couple months are what put me in this more centered state of being.

Like if you get food poisoning and riiiight when you start to feel it, you just instantly know that chowing down on those 25 cent shrimp tacos wasn’t a good idea. There are times when something happens around me, or even have a direct impact on me, where I can look back and know that I am less reactive and more clear headed due to a practice that I’ve been consistent with recently. For me, a quick mindfulness meditation to start the day is HUGE. For you, it may be reading a book or calling your mom, or journaling things that you’re thankful for. It can come in many forms, but find your own form of peace and solace and stick with it, because we need you out there! We need all the joy and peace and love we can possibly muster during these difficult times.

My man @LeviathansKeeper (el duderino/lover/giver/day betterer) sent me a video recently from a chap on YouTube regarding planitary alignments, solar energies, moon cycles and the like after hearing my curiosity on the topic. His name is Stefan Burns if you care to check him out…good dude. He was going into a lot of things WELL over my head, but explaining it in a way I could understand (and I thank you for that Mr. Burns). He says there is this solar storm and that cosmic activity over here, mixed with mercury in gatorade and these frickin moonbeams, all causing the world around us to be in a heightened state, possibly contributing to some of the behavior we’re seeing. While the information, though accurate, may not be the most comforting, he took time to explicitly remind everyone that among all the craziness, we still have the ability (and are encouraged) to go out on a sunny day, skip and whistle through a park, and appreciate nature for the glorious beauty it provides. And boy is that the TRUTH!

Nature has a way of grounding us and washing away worry and distress. Our nervous system regulates in nature. When we see beautiful things and are thankful for them, we unintentionally calm our entire being. It’s timeless! When we breathe that fresh, crisp air on a walk, we feel revitalized and renewed. Just breaking away from a screen for a bit and spending time around living things, feeling that amazing sunshine, listening to birds chirp and circulating the blood in our bodies acts as a total reset that we undeniably need on a daily basis. We absorb that wonderful energy from nature, and, at least for a bit, can break away from the things trying to keep us down and dull. If you feel something…anything, trying to get at your inner peace and mess with your chi, by golly, you better put your foot down and step out into nature because it is quite amazing out there.

Do dee doooo…just on my way to pay homage to the little mushroom shrine I discovered and have been slowly adding to, when all of a sudden I come across a log from a MUSHROOM TREE! I didn’t even know we had mushroom trees around here! You can tell it’s a mushroom tree because…well, just look at it.

I know I’ve shared a pic of the mushroom trinket shrine thingy in the past, but it’s been a while, the configuration often changes and items come and go. Here’s the latest update:

And then right as I get home, I’m greeted by a little baby fire breathing dragon! No doubt a descendent of Ted from last year. This little feller’s name is King. And yes, I did ask for consent to capture this image. He blinked twice for “yes” and struck a nice pose

Go take a walk, listen to your all time favorite jams, commune with the mushroom or do whatever you have to do to let the forces know they can’t keep you from smiling and spreading love all over this frickin’ earth. UPDATES:

Matapanas is BACK! One of my favorites to work with, and for me personally, tops the charts on the experience as well. I loved this one so much, I just kept sharing until I completely ran out of prints, but we are officially back in full force with this one! Very interesting origin story, and the lore continues with how it came to me (and how I lost it…and how it came back…and ran out…and now back again) in the item description. So so good.

We’re reviving “The Guestbook” channel on Discord! I made this channel maybe 6 months ago, as a space where you can write a little do-dad about how you got into the hobby, any healing and benefits you’ve experienced because of it, shout-outs to who got you into the hobby, etc. Just a place for praise of mycology of all kinds. I had grand plans to add my own entry when I first made the channel, but life started lifin’ and I didn’t get around to it for a while. Seeing a blank guestbook week after week as a reminder that I didn’t contribute was disheartening. I removed it, and not soon after, had a few people asking where it was so they could write something. My bad! This time it’s here to stay, blank or nah. No rush if you wish to add to the guestbook…take your time.

Having trouble with a coupon code? Message me on Discord or send me and email and we’ll figure it out! Most have been able to checkout just fine, but a few people have mentioned a perpetual freeze when trying to use a coupon code the past couple weeks. I’m workin’ on it!

Most of the supplies I make are what works best in MY environment. This generally works across the board pretty well, but feel free (in order notes at checkout) to request a slightly more wet or dry substrate, for example, if that works best in your environment and I’ll do my best to accommodate. If you’re interested in anything experimental, feel free to mention that as well! I’m always trying out different things here and there and if you’d like to join in and be mad scientists together, that would be awesome!

What is that you say? The dice rolls aren’t complicated enough? Say less! These dice rolls make sense to me and the folks that have been around for a while, but if you’re newer here or just curious how they work and I’m not explaining it well enough, feel free to reach out and I’ll try to simplify it for ya. There are currently two options that are vague…#8 on both the active $20 roll and gourmet $20 roll, mention “surprise goodies”. What the hell is even that? We just don’t know. But going forward, we’ll have a separate roll if you choose/roll one of these options. The “surprise goodies” will be determined by this extra roll. For example, if you roll a “1” on the separate roll for this option, you’ll likely have an “ahh, nice” reaction to the surprise goodies. If you roll an “8”, that reaction may be more of a “WHOOOOA DUDE HOLY MOSES!!!” with varying levels of goodies in between. Roll on my friends.

Quick note about giveaways on Discord: I love to accommodate anyone and everyone with these giveaways, but due to shipping cost and unreliability of getting through customs, these are currently for US addresses only. A 1lb box runs around $30 for shipping alone…5lb can be around $100, and some of these gives are heavier than that, running $200+ overseas, with high potential of getting stuck in customs and never actually arriving. If an international myconaut wins one of these, I’d be happy to send some prints or swabs your way…pretty much anything that can fit in a standard envelope and not have to pass through customs screening. If you order agar plates, quick changes in temps can sometimes cause condensation to form on the lids. Condensation is no problem, and will not affect the performance of the plate, but it’s still nice to have a clear view of what’s going on in there! I know for me, condensation is kind of annoying. If it’s still cold in your area, consider bringing your order into the garage or similar area to gradually warm up before entering your loving home to help reduce the drippity droplets!
