Wowzers!! Mushroom Day ended up being a HUGE hit!! Thank you everyone for all the support, kind words, donations and crafted goods that went into making this such a fun couple of days! And thank you most of all for your patience!! I was…erm…half prepared for that madness. Most orders shipped out on time, but a couple handfulls were a day or so late getting out. Regardless of what tracking says at the moment, know that if you got a tracking email, it is indeed on ze way!! Most of my packages get picked up by my mail duderino and I watch him scan them into the system, yet on some I’m not seeing any tracking updates until it gets to YOUR local hub. It makes no sense to me…not sure what is going on, but they try. As always, if anyone wants confirmation it is indeed on the way, or if your tracking is showing some weird status, hit me up and I’d be happy to check on it for yas.

I *assumed* (my first mistake) that the days following Mushroom Day would be relatively easy going, restocking what I just ran through, etc. but for the first time in my life I was actually wrong about something! The few orders that were on the roster to be shipped on Monday went out a day late due to the AWS outage that impacted absolutely nothing in my life besides my shipping app! Gah! And on the random, the past couple days have been extra busy with some larger agar and AIO bag orders. I’ve been busy on the restocks and long labor intensive processes this week and have barely been able to catch up on anything with Discord, but I see some of those Mushroom Day orders landing and really appreciate the shout outs!! On the other hand, if anything is missing anything or were promised something they didn’t get…or just not supremely happy with anything for whatever reason, please let me know and I’ll make it right with ya. It was a wild few days over here and I did my best to keep everything on track!

Most of the specific requests for extra goodies on Mushroom Day were honored! This isn’t new, but still baffles me that in the past, with this year being no exception, if I have 15 of one thing and 5 of something else and just say first come first served, almost every time, I’ll have right around 15 requests for the one and 5 for the other. By far, the most popular requests were for the incredible agar holders 3D printed by @Smushem, along with the substrate tamper/packer guys from ol Smush as well. Thank you so much for putting smiles on all these mycofaces!! You rock again, sir.

As I’ve said many many times over the past week, I’ve been busy as heck catching up and keeping up with the Mushroom Day shenanigans, so this isn’t the most traditional WW post, but I wanted to mention my focus has been on balance. I know in prior years, when I’ve been slammed with orders for a Black Friday event or Mushroom Day or something, I’ve kept on the grind until everything was complete. While that feeling is incredible, almost every damn time, I would get sick immediately after. And in the final stretch of that grind, I was probably only running at 50% efficiency just trying to get my responsibilities done.

As I’ve been at this for some time, I’m learning and tweaking different parts of my flow, and as hard as it is to break away sometimes, I realize that taking some time, whether that be an hour in the middle of the day or a certain day each week, helps keep me healthy and more effective overall. I was stuck in a rut for a minute, where I didn’t feel comfortable going to an event or hanging out with friends unless I was all caught up on my stuffs. Sometimes I would skip my daily routine to be more productive, but in the end, my mental would suffer and be the cause of some other issues. But when I’m able to let go, know that everything will work out, and have more of a focus on balance and what is most important in my life- being in nature and having a connection with other humans, I was able to come back to the same tasks with 100% focus and efficiency, still get my “work” done, and feel much more accomplished and renewed when everything is complete. I highly recommend taking some “you” time to just do what makes you happy. Read a book, play a game, take a walk in nature…whatever it is, give yourself grace if you feel stressed about not sticking on your grind and doing something for your soul. And thank you for allowing me to do so, too :3

I will say, as of just this morning, I’m all caught up on orders to ship! There are a few grain and AIO orders that will be shipping out on Friday, and I’m at the mercy of my autoclave capacity especially with how much space the AIO’s take. I’ve been running this thing non-stop, but it takes almost 24 hrs for a complete sterilization cycle and cooling process so there are limits. The bags currently cooling and the ones in tomorrow’s load will ship out on Friday as normally scheduled, but any AIO orders placed today and tomorrow will likely not ship until early next week. I try to contact everyone who’s order will be shipping a day late, but as always, if you want confirmation or have any questions, just send me a chat or email!

I have just been informed today is “International Print Day”, which I believe has somethig to do with the printing press, BUT NOT AROUND THESE PARTS!! Unfortunately, international orders departing from the US are undergoing some more strict than usual customs searches, and a lot of things are not getting passed through, even while being completely legal. For the past few months, I’ve only been shipping spore prints and spore swabs outside of the US….pretty much anything that can fit in a standard stamped envelope and not have to go through a customs search. When regulations are a bit more lax, I’ll feel more comfortable sending the larger things in boxes. BUT FOR NOW!

We have an old friend back from hibernation this week! MENACE is one variety I wasn’t a huge fan of before, but once our relationship developed a bit, it was a fascinating study! I’d put this one at maybe an intermediate skill level in the hobby and is back in full force!

The Soon to be Lifer Pack is back in stock after a long break! I remember taking this one down when I ran out of B+ for a little while and forgot to put it back in the shop when it returned! This has been one of the most popular packs for beginners, as it includes Golden Teacher, B+, Z-Strain, and 3 other cubensis varieties suitable for beginners! The 3 unnamed varieties will rotate and may change frequently, but will always be great options for all skill levels and some of my favorites. No requests can be made for this pack, but “unnamed” varieties that may be included are Cambodian Gold, Treasure Coast, Maui Platinum, Matapanas, PE6 and Aztec God.

Patience my friends! Orders for supplies, like grains, substrate and agar, have been on the rise lately. That’s awesome and thank you!!! These are also the most time consuming processes. Supply orders typically ship out on Tuesdays and Fridays so you get the freshest batch possible, but if I end up with a short backlog of supply orders, I’ll email you to let you know when your order will ship. Unless things get really crazy, it should only be a 1 day delay, if any.
