Hump Dayyyyy!!! Back to “normal” Wyco Wednesdays, my friends 🙂

It feels kinda weird not having a chakra theme! Until we have some other focus, I suppose I’ll go back to yapping about life lessons and such. I know I said last week I had more work to do and was NOT continuing toward the crown chakra, buuuut the universe threw some different plans my way!

No sooner did I say “I’m sticking with the 3rd eye chakra, this place rocks”, then was told my place. I finished last week’s post, make a veggie stir fry with a generous amount of hot hot hoooot sauce from our good friend @Dont_BBlink (not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I feel like it does…), and just a few bites in, I’m overwhelmed with biiig surprise meditation session energy. So I followed that stuff. Put down the delicious meal and started meditating. Undeniably, my Crown chakra was ablaze.

So I guess it is time for “graduation” to a higher chakra. Totally thought I had more work to do with the 3rd eye, but if I learned anything from the throat chakra, it was to LISTEN! Sometimes I’m too stubborn to take the queues, but this one was pretty powerful. Complete dissolving of my being, vibrations all through my body that all led to my crown with things to show and lessons to learn. One of the prominent themes of this chakra for me has been TRUST. This is a common theme with all of the chakras, but I noticed it especially when working with the crown.

I was talking with a friend the other day about some powerful meditations and what those experiences led to. My buddy was saying sometimes he has a voice in his head telling him to do or not to do certain trivial things. Things like “put that cup a little to the right” or “sit there, not there”. Seemingly insignificant decisions, never anything major. I added that I sometimes have a little voice like that too, saying “Grab an extra mint!” or something equally inconsequential. And sometimes that works out! Sometimes I do grab that extra mint or two or tear off an extra piece of bubble wrap and it happens to be the exact number I needed. But other times I’ll do the thing and end up with one extra soooo I don’t put too much cred into the inner small talk. Neither of us have a crazy voice in our head (or at least we both deny)…it’s always just random minor mentions. But that, mixed with my Crown chakra lessons, led me to a deep dive on our inner voice and following my true path.

When the crown chakra is centered and balanced, we’re connected to the divine. I mentioned in past weeks how this skill can be strengthened if we listen to this guide, or dulled if ignored. Some of us have more voices/guides/nudges from our inner voice, which means we need to hone and cultivate discernment more than usual. You could really go mad trying to differentiate the “crazy” voice from the helpful or divine one! I was going through this paradox right before my hot sauce meditation, and realized I only needed to discern between what will lead to upward growth and improvement and what is nonsense/negative/leads me away from my path. If I’m only listening to the voice that leads to helping others, loving myself in the best way possible and directing me toward what I know to be my true path, I really don’t have to worry about if it’s coming from my subconscious or elsewhere…it’s right for me to listen. Not that I’ll always follow this majestic inner voice…what a boring life that would be! But I’ll at least LISTEN! Sometimes I’ll still give in to what I know to be “not the best choice”, because I am human and sometimes those choices are fun and not all that detrimental to my path…but I’ll still acknowledge and listen to what I know to be the voice of the divine. Any other little devil on my shoulder saying “do this” or “do that” or anything against my upward agenda is to be recognized as a negative force. Like I said, I might not always act accordingly! But I will at least pause to recognize which voice that might be and put more intention into what I’m about to do or say.

My first step, or “test” after having these thoughts, was my inner voice telling me to meditate at a seemingly random time while eating dinner (bringing this full circle). I wouldn’t always put down the fork and saddle up in lotus, but it seemed like this was the first domino of many that could set my trajectory in one of two ways: listening to what is good AND acting on it, or hearing it and choosing a different path. And I felt like I was rewarded with a blissful experience to reflect on and unpack. So NOW, after following my good path, I try to listen when I walk through the kitchen to have a nice big chug of water or to do yoga in the morning instead of hitting the ground running. Key word is TRY! So I challenge you all this week to *try* and love yourself more, give yourself some extra grace, and listen to the side of you that’s trying to be the best version of you <3
