My beloved best friends, I appreciate all your patience and understanding these past few days as I’ve been pretty friggin under the weather! In the past 5 years, the times I’ve been sick, even with COVID, I’ve been able to recover fully in a day and a half or so, but no such luck this time around! One of my buddies was showing the same symptoms and went to urgent care, where they diagnosed him positive for influenza A and negative for COVID. It kicked both our asses, whatever it was/is. I’ve been on the mend for the past few days but it just doesn’t want to leave. I’ve been staying hydrated with about a gallon of water a day, along with fruit and veggie juice, kombucha, lemon and ginger tea, grazing food through the day and supplementing with reishi and turkey tail. If anyone has any magical myco cures up their sleeve, pass them my way please! I’ll try anything at this point, though I’m sure it’ll be done soon.

Since I am on the tail end of this recovery and my brain still isn’t quite fully functional, I’m going to try to introduce a few new varieties and fill the void with special deals rather than strain to write. NEW to the shop this week- one I gave out a few months ago at random, or perhaps a Wednesday give, please welcome VZ3 to the library! VZ3 is a landrace cubensis variety from Venezuela and would fit right in with the ol “Big Boy Pack”! Totally suitable for beginners and is a pretty fun study all around 🙂

Also new to the shop but a past favorite for the gives, BLACK CAP NATALENSIS is now available! There has been some question on the Natalensis/Ochraceocentrata front for a while now, and I do believe we may have been working with Ochra while calling it Natalensis, but without genetic sequence testing, I’m not entirely sure so I’m mentioning both. I also learned I’m not the only one that is attached to the NATALENSIS name, so I’m keeping both on there for the time being just for reference. These start out just like the good ol Nat/Ochra we know, but the caps turn dark at maturity. Suuuper cool study!

And yet ANOTHER new one, and one of my recent favorites, STARFROST is available in swab packs only! Starfrost is a hybrid of two beloved varieties, Starry Night APE and Jack Frost, and this will not disappoint! Super fun to work with, no crazy experience needed, and I’m sure will become a favorite for you as well.

Just to reiterate, HEAT PACKS have been added to the shop for the frigid areas! Recommended for areas that are in the mid-20’s or colder.
