Wellllcome back lovers of love! Heart chakra week was scheduled to kick off this past Wednesday, but through divine intervention, it was pushed back to this week due to me being down with the sickness! (Queue Disturbed) Thankfully it was just a case of the flu, and thanks to all of the well wishes from the community, I recovered and am back better than ever! It was also during a time where the weather was…*checks notes* COLD AS BALLS, so I didn’t miss much nature time either. And as @SpacePackage pointed out, HEART CHAKRA week would be more fitting for the month of February anyway! Orders this week should land closer to Valentines Day so it all works out 🙂 And thank you all for the birthday wishes last week! HUGE shout out to my good friend @LeviathansKeeper for sending the most epic bday love package my way and making it really special! This dude is somethin’ else, I tell ya. Crystals and stones from his personal alter, trinkets galore, some delicious mushroom infused (Lions Mane, Chaga and Codyceps…calm down) powdered creamer, and what is now my favorite shirt in my closet! He included a couple incredible hoodies and some other amazing additions not pictured here. I….the community…the universe, is truly blessed for you existing in our orbit, man. Thank you.

Let’s get to eeet! I try to not play favorites with the chakras, because they are all equally important to balance and each have their own specific role, but I just can’t help it….I frickin’ LOVE the heart chakra!! And being the middle chakra of the 7, it connects the physical (lower) to the spiritual (higher) chakras. This is how we get in touch and in tune with our higher self.

The Anahata, or HEART CHAKRA, is all about being connected with yourself, cultivating joy, self-love and compassion. ANY way that you can do this is considered a WIN! And I’ll be honest…I did get a few days head start on this one! I couldn’t help it! Coming back from the flu, with the weather bouncing back a bit, I am absolutely on FIRE in my heart chakra! Empathy and compassion is absolutely off the charts and it feels good to just feel.

If we are having difficulty loving ourselves or giving love from a genuine place, feeling disconnected and do not feel deserving of love, we may also have trouble receiving love as well. We start to feel out of touch with ourselves, closed off and hardened from our heart center. When things are off balance in our heart chakra, we may have trouble feeling…well, anything! Or we may feel anger, hatred, and resentment, closed off from those closest to us and ultimately lonely.

But if our heart chakra is balanced and centered…dare I say…BLASTED OPEN, we are in touch with our emotions and the emotions of those around us. We want to spread that love far and wide! We see everything and everyone as an extension of ourselves, and take care of those around us. If you see someone in your orbit that is having a bit of a rough time, instead of trying to “fix” it, just be there for them. Show them how much love you can possibly have for them. Let them know you’re thinking about them and that you love them with all of your massive heart!

As much as I love love love the heart chakra, there have been many times where I just feel cold and closed off. Kind words from people in this community or a simple text from a close friend have meant the world to me and helped me out of some dark places at times. You never know what someone is going through, and just reaching out to let someone know that you care and they are not alone could make a world of difference. Now more than ever, it’s easy to look around at what’s happening in the world and feel lost, down and depressed, and feel a lack of humanity and love out there. But love will ALWAYS prevail. ALWAYS. Keep on fighting with nothing but love and feel those reverberations spread far and wide.

^^This^^ was my grocery haul this morning. Imagine glancing at someone’s cart and seeing 20 items of the same color. I’m not weird, you’re weird! And I love you (me) in all of your “weirdness”. If you’re a little indecisive with what foods to shop for, focusing on a color is a great way to make some easy choices, and every time I get nourishment from a green food this week, I’ll be giving thanks and bringing my awareness back into my heart chakra. And I know matcha is not for everyone…I get it. It takes a special kind of weirdo (me) to really love the stuff. It’s earthy. But I’m not just telling myself I love it…I really freakin do. Sometimes I’ll get on a bit of a coffee binge, where I’ll start my day with coffee for a few weeks (nothing wrong with that), but when I take a break and substitute with matcha instead, I notice a considerable difference in my vibration. It calms your nervous system like none other and still provides the alertness and awareness without feeling all jittery or crashing out from caffeine (oh that sweet sweet caffeine I do love you, too). If you’re feeling buzzy and testy at times, I HIGHLY reccomend just trying one cup of matcha and seeing how you feel. Centered, balanced, absolutely groovy. Oh here goes Milly on his meditation soap box again. Yeeep, here I am! I’m telling you….days starting with meditation are noticeably better than days without it. Prove me wrong. Commit to just 5 minutes. Hell, commit to 2 minutes….30 seconds even. Just give your being a chance to calm and take a break from the insane thought storm that is your brain at all times without even knowing it. You may find that you’re less reactive and impulsive, more careful, considerate and loving toward yourself. When you inhale, imagine that fresh breath of prana energizing and opening up your heart chakra. With each exhale, you’re releasing any negativity, stress, frustration, fears and pain. This bright green light in the center of your chest is getting stronger and brighter with each breath. If your thoughts are constantly scrambling during this process, you are in fact, a normal human being. IF you’re visualizing someone or some thing that gives you love, let out a subtle sigh with a feeling of “niiice”. And if something enters your mind that you aren’t particularly fond of, know that a piece of that…whatever it is…is exiting your system. Be with it and love it for what it is. I like to tap on my heart chakra in the center of my chest to “wake it up” a bit, and form a certain rhythm to it. Chant a mantra of “I love” if you’re into it, or the traditional mantra of “YUM”. “I love myself”. “I am loving awareness”. “I BLAST love into every corner of my house in every direction of my being.”

Emerald, green tourmaline, jade, green calcite, and pretty much all green crystals resonate with this chakra. Additionally, any crystal that you LOVE and that brings you ultimate JOY are great to have on you or around you this week. Rose, lavender, lemon balm and ylang ylang (I just love saying that one) are fantastic essential oils and incense that can bring your awareness back to your heart chakra. Yoga is always a super helpful practice that can most stagnant energy and help open your heart chakra. At the end of a yoga session, I like to place a crystal in the center of my chest and just breath with it for a bit while lying on my back.

If you’re not so much into traditional meditation, this video on the Breath of Life, explained by Spirit Science (fantastic channel) absolutely will catapult you into having an amazing day. Just follow along, even if just once, and see what it does. Positive self talk works. Prove me wrong.

I came across a pretty groovy version of Electric Love the other day that filled me with sunshine and rainbows. I added it to a playlist and it has come one several times since, and always fills me with so much joy I almost explode, so if you’re not ready to explode with love, maybe don’t put that one on. It’s a little dubsteppy for you dubsteppers. You know…WUUUH WUUUUH. Big wubs.

A little more lowkey with this one, but the GRiZ Bonnaroo set has been in regular rotation over here for a couple years. Super saxxy. If nothing else, just listen to the first 60 seconds of this set for a sample from Duncan Trussell on BEING LOVE. Just do it. Remember, you ARE love. Express that any way you can possibly fathom.

Wednesdays are super fun an exciting around here, and I appreciate all the love and support as always! I also appreciate the understanding and patience, as things can get busy sometimes! Some Wednesday orders will ship out on Thursday per usual, but other more complicated or larger orders may ship out on Friday. The #polls channel in the Discord has been a super useful tool lately that a lot of members have been utilizing! I’ve seen a good amount of suggestions lately, wanting to add some specific channels to the Discord that I think are fantastic ideas too! My only hesitation in adding more channels is that our space may start becoming a bit crowded. I know a few members have shared with me that it can be a little overwhelming at times, and I totally get that. I know we all just want to help as much as possible and create a comfortable space for everyone, so I’m adding a new, simple poll that will run for a few days to get a pulse on how we feel about adding a couple more helpful channels. The last thing I want is for someone to be discouraged from exploring the Disc just because it feels like too much is going on! Hop in and cast your vote!
