Jeeeepers folks, it’s a hot one! I’m used to it by now here in Texas, but I know the northeast is getting blasted, the west turned to kindling, then to fire, and we’re not even in the full swing of el niño yet. Buckle up and be safe out there, peoples!

On a positive note, even in this wicked drought, my Beautyberry bush be BUSHIN’! I made a bunch of jam with these little guys a couple years ago, but didn’t set the time aside to do so last year and it’s haunted me ever since. This year…we jam. Check the progression on these Barney balls!

I wanted to share some thoughts on a continuation of last week’s blurb about embracing change in regard to setting realistic goals. Keep in mind, usually when I speak on things like this, I’m talking to myself and is something I need to hear and/or follow.

I left off last week, saying “You’re in exactly the right place, at exactly the right time, doing exactly what you’re supposed to be doing” and you better believe that’s true! We all have our role in the world and we’re doing the damn thing, all part of this divine plan. But I know that’s a difficult concept to accept for most people, especially if you’re striving for something that you haven’t yet obtained. It can be discouraging to stay the course and put everything you have into your mission if you feel like progress isn’t matching your output. Totally understandable.

Our good friend @LeviathansKeeper sent me a quote the other day that I’ve been pondering – “Suffering is born from the inability to accept things as they are”, which is a core teaching in Buddhist philosophy and Taoism. It’s totally something I need to work on, and have been working on for quite some time. Lev didn’t send this to me for any specific purpose in my life (at least not intentionally), but like many words passed around in this community, it hit my heart right when I needed it most. I appreciate you, buddy.

All too often, I set what I believe to be a realistic, achievable goal, only to be discouraged and disappointed when things don’t turn out exactly that way. I can’t be the only one….right? RIGHT!?!?

I’m slowly realizing that many of these goals I set actually are achievable! But how they’re planned…the timeframe, the work load, the outside factors, were set up for the PERFECT optimized outcome. I have a 10 hour block of time and I schedule 5 goals to achieve, each taking 2 hours to complete. Is it possible? Well sure, I guess. In a perfect world. But I better hope I don’t have to take a break for anything. God forbid I have to eat or use the bathroom! Ain’t no way I’m getting distracted at allll, right? No phone calls, no cool people to chat with on Disc, no mishaps with any processes, no low blood sugar or literally any outside influence throwing off my groooove! And I’m like a dog, man…I need my daily walk!

Sure it’s attainable, but is it realistic? Hellll nah! I’m just setting myself up for what I mistakenly view as “failure”. That mentality carries on to the next task, next day, or even longer. The feeling that you’re “behind” on whatever it may be affects more than you know.

That doesn’t mean don’t STRIVE for greatness! I am great! And so are you! Progress was made, and that makes it an absolute undeniable success. Get that “failure” nonsense out of your head! If anything, there was an attempt and we’re still here. THAT is success. Just existing can be exhausting. Our goals and aspirations don’t need to end in perfection, because we ARE perfection, just how we are.

Instead of beating yourself up about what all you didn’t accomplish, celebrate the progress you made, no matter how little. THAT mindset also carries on to the next task, the next day, or even longer. Instead of poisoning your precious future time on this earth, it can propel you, motivate you and make youmuch more effective at accomplishing future goals.

Something didn’t work out? Well guess what? It wasn’t going to work out! That’s progress! You’re just along for the ride. Are you still on the ride? Perfect. Sure you could look back and say if I did this or that, things would be different, but that was never going to happen in the first place! That wasn’t the divine plan for you! Let go of your attachment to the outcome, just observe it as it happens and do your best, because it’s going to happen just how it does. There’s no other possible outcome. Once you grasp that concept, the sky is the limit and NOTHING can stop you.

I love you all so so much and I KNOW you’re doing great out there. Thank you for choosing to spend some of your time with this fantastic community and thank you for existing! Give yourself some grace and celebrate those small victories. And check out the meteor shower tonight if you have a clear view of the sky! There’s a new moon tonight, which means we’ll have some incredible clarity to check out over 100 meteors per hour at its peak between midnight and 3am(ish) tonight! Mush Love <3

Greetings Wizards! Glad to be writing this huge shoutout to BingoSmoke for letting me write this and Milly for hosting these, both of you are legends that will live on for a very long time! Take notes around these guys, they drop gems all the time!

Where I started?

-It’s been quite the journey with a mix of all sorts of emotions! I started simply by foraging outdoors, and identifying from there, in seek of the blue bruiser, years went by before I folded and cultivated, but in-between the curiosity for mushrooms, I began studying and researching plants, something locally instead I could use, and the quest for chemicals began! My curiosity for chemicals only grew from there, how things could cure, but also curse, the questions only grew from there, It was once I began indoor cultivation I could finally expose myself to the expansive dimensions it provides as tools. From reading and researching the experience, to then finally being able to perceive and receive the very thing they all write about – “the magic” in mushrooms. The voice of the mushroom is what I find most magical about any dose, something that is willing to explain a topic a thousand different ways until it makes sense to your mind.

What changed my game?

Hawaiian PE experience – I’ve had many of experiences over the years, but the one that truly shook my boat and revealed the “magic” in mushrooms, was a basic form of sensory deprivation with a sleep mask in a quiet room. I had taken 3.5g dried Hawaiian PE. This experience truly changed my relationship with mushrooms. This had taken every experience prior and blown it out of the water. It was as if the sleep mask was the main event of the trip. I highly recommend checking out the depths it can bring you but I also shed a light in cautioning one in which emotional states they bring into such states of envisioned depth. It is a very powerful place to be, but do not rely on this dimension to be your source of creativity. Our connections with it are not as stable as we wish. Use it as an influence and enjoy what it shows you, express it however you feel best! Personally just makes me even more curious, I call it “forever fuel” Cause once you’ve seen it your subconscious will always be looking for an explanation!

Burma experience – Another highly notable experience was with Burma. This experience isn’t your traditional mushroom experience, instead I was met with very dissociated like state in my body. No major visuals, just a very dissociating like feeling as I sunk further and further into my couch chewing on fungi. Slowly I chewed around 7g-8g and still no major visuals. It was a very pill like experience and very interesting how clear the headspace was while having very little motor function. Very unique effects definitely worth the try if your into strange effects!

What information am I after?

-I get this question quite a bit so I figured I’d write about it here a little bit. I’m after all forms and techniques. I tend to preserve my trail of education that has elevated me throughout my journeys of information. If you’re curious on any of these topics discussed, feel free to reach me through the discord!

I don’t necessarily gather or seek personal experiences I gather and seek multiple encounters of experiences, a universal translation. What works for you may not work for them, and it cannot be assumed that it will. I’m looking for the translations not the traditions.

The variety and diversity in effects mushrooms can truly carry is beyond vast its almost overwhelming! From experiences entirely of this world to experiences similar to opioid level relief. Sedation similar to anesthetics, mushrooms have a very strange compound capability within them that we often overlook, I think this is something we have long forgotten about and shed little awareness upon. If we looked outward more we could find these cures and ailments and preserve them for future generations to study or use as tools as we once have ourselves.

The more you try the more you realize, there’s so much at play here but personally I hope to study and achieve enough of the knowledge for a decent explanation for navigation!

What you should look for

I recommend everyone look for translations, not all of our foundations are the same, but throughout our differences we can seek translation and iterations that will make sense. Patience is definitely learned with mycology, but it should be practiced most with conversation. Our foundational exposures may not be as aligned as we assume. With this anything can make sense, to you me and everyone.

UPDATES:

At the time of writing this, Discord seems to be having some issues on mobile (err…my mobile anyway). Yes I unplugged and plugged it back in…no luck. Hoping this fixes itself by dice rolling time! If not, we’ll find a work around.

That being said, I do plan on hanging in the voice chat for a bit tonight if anyone wants to come hang! Ask any questions on your mind or just vibe out and riff with us. We have these, usually spontaneously from time to time and it’s always nice to connect with our fellow friends. If the Disc mobile issue isn’t resolved by then and I’m chained to my laptop, it may be brief on my end because I have ants in my pants, but feel free to hang as long as you’d like with the others.

All-In-One bags now come with gallon sized Ziplock bags and a handful of rubber bands! I’ve been sending these with AIO orders the past month or so (besides forgetting a couple) and meant to mention it earlier. Use rubber bands on the bottom part of the bag to keep the bag snug with the substrate/cake to reduce side pins and have a nice even flush. The gallon bags will not always have a use, but sometimes when fruits outgrow their chambers, you need a little extra room on top for them to stretch. This allows you to clip the top part of the bag off entirely and replace it with a Ziplock to keep that moisture dome with some added height. Your mushies will love ya for the extra space!

I’m currently out of millet! I’ll be restocking on Saturday, so all orders of millet and milo/millet mixed grain bags will ship out with supply orders on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, due to (my best guess) temperatures during transit causing agar plates to act a damn fool, I am suspending agar service until the earth cools just a tad, likely post-niño. Couldn’t quite narrow down what is at fault here, and I’m having too many people report that some of their plates are wet or contaminated. Will continue to try and find the culprit with a few volunteers. For now, no agar is listed on the site, but can fulfill by request under certain circumstances. Hit me up if it’s absolutely a need and we’ll make it happen.
