Howdy, homies!

Apologies to the non-Discord people (I love you just the same) following along lately, but we’ve been doing some spring cleaning and these changes have been the focus of our attention! I’ve been receiving feedback about the pros and cons of how we had things setup and how we could implement a few cool features from this MEE6 server assistant. I know it seems overwhelming now, but we’ll continue to refine it to make things cleaner, more user friendly and more fun overall.

Discord got a makeover! The new look on the channel bar- now very colorful, organized and easy to navigate, has been decluttered and spruced up thanks to our newest mod and long time friend, @UnderdogArtisan! She added a few much needed channels and has been hard at work shuffling things to their proper place and tweaking MEE6 to be more helpful and less annoying. Thank you merch maker/ gourmet guru/ badass human extraordinaire!

Now that we have a week of mingling around with the games and points, I have a better idea of how to price actual physical items you’ll be able to purchase from the points shop. By the end of the month, we’ll have a few small prizes you can cash those points in for.

There was an attempt to get the prizes and a few other things up and running today, but I overloaded my schedule a bit and don’t want to rush anything just because it’s Wednesday. As I’ve been doing for the past couple weeks, tonight and for a couple hours tomorrow evening, I’ll be fine tuning these new features, and welcome any and all feedback if you care to share! Something that stood out to me on this hike/walk thing, is the power and importance of connection. Connection to nature and connection to other humans. @SamTheFungi and I are pretty much always very busy lads. Like most mush people, we go all in. Very deep. Too deep at times. We just can’t help it. But this man makes sure he sets time aside to connect with the land, animals and people on the regular. I think that’s incredibly nurturing for the soul, and sometimes you don’t even know you needed it until you get it. Don’t get too caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that you neglect the ENJOYMENT aspect of being the amazing individual that you are. I love you all have the best week ever!! What is that you say? The dice rolls aren’t complicated enough? Say less! These dice rolls make sense to me and the folks that have been around for a while, but if you’re newer here or just curious how they work and I’m not explaining it well enough, feel free to reach out and I’ll try to simplify it for ya (@TheMycoVet also does a helluva job). There are currently two options that are vague…#8 on both the active $20 roll and gourmet $20 roll, mention “surprise goodies”. What the hell is even that? We just don’t know. But going forward, we’ll have a separate roll if you choose/roll one of these options. The “surprise goodies” will be determined by this extra roll. For example, if you roll a “1” on the separate roll for this option, you’ll likely have an “ahh, nice” reaction to the surprise goodies. If you roll an “8”, that reaction may be more of a “WHOOOOA DUDE HOLY MOSES!!!” with varying levels of goodies in between. Roll on my friends.

Quick note about giveaways on Discord: I love to accommodate anyone and everyone with these giveaways, but due to shipping cost and unreliability of getting through customs, these are currently for US addresses only. A 1lb box runs around $30 for shipping alone…5lb can be around $100, and some of these gives are heavier than that, running $200+ overseas, with high potential of getting stuck in customs and never actually arriving. If an international myconaut wins one of these, I’d be happy to send some prints or swabs your way…pretty much anything that can fit in a standard envelope and not have to pass through customs screening. If you order agar plates, quick changes in temps can sometimes cause condensation to form on the lids. Condensation is no problem, and will not affect the performance of the plate, but it’s still nice to have a clear view of what’s going on in there! I know for me, condensation is kind of annoying. If it’s still cold in your area, consider bringing your order into the garage or similar area to gradually warm up before entering your loving home to help reduce the drippity droplets!

For the past couple months, I’ve been posting a *loose* schedule of one or two processes I plan on running for that day, but it seems that in wizardland, schedules are made to be broken. I think I have everything all figured out, and soon after, things get all switched around due to a few unexpected large orders (and THANK YOU for that!).
