Happy October, mycopeeps! Somebody wake up Mr. Billie Joe…

Whether it’s the first day of the year or the first day of then month, I get a refreshed and renewed feeling having a new start to something. I know it’s just a “1” that makes me feel that way and could just as easily be started on the 5th or 9th day, but motivation hits when it hits, and no matter when that fresh start begins, I’ll take it! Today was no different with the new beginnings, but with a slight pivot.

I’ve gotten in the habit lately of noticing certain synchronicities happening in everyday life, and taking a moment to appreciate them. I figure these types of things happen on a fairly regular basis, but I’m not always on the same frequency to receive them. Either I’m “too busy” to notice, pre-occupied with this or that or just unaware for whatever reason. So now, when I notice them, I’ll pause what I’m doing, take a deep breath, say “thank you” to the universe, followed by “I’m listening”. Not like the universe needs a queue from me to know that I’m paying attention, but it makes these events more mindful and meaningful when I stay tapped in after something like that happens. Could be thinking about a friend when they happen to call, having a song in my head and it randomly comes on, or anything in between.

I’ve also gotten in the habit of turning on a Ram Dass lecture at random on Wednesdays to get in the writing flow and, on days like today, maybe getting some inspiration or starting point for what I want to talk about.

I began today thinking about what I’ve accomplished in the past month and looking forward to what is to come in October. I realized in the past 2 weeks or so, I’ve been heavily focused on different processes that need completed and stocking up supplies and what not to get ahead or at least not fall behind. And it’s been a really good flow! Some of the best flows. No one has ever seen flows like this. HUGE flows. But little by little, I’ve noticed myself squeezing in some of these projects where I would normally have time set aside for personal growth and development. The “aaah….maybe tomorrow” mindset toward certain things. That usually isn’t a problem, as I am trained in the art of the soft pivot and have the freedom to move my schedule around quite a bit. But when the soft pivot becomes a hard path and those habits become more of a permanent change, days like this help me re-assess what needs focus and attention.

I packed up and shipped all orders on the docket for today (with ease, I might add. GO FLOW!) and sat down at my laptop to start writing today’s fresh nuggets. Having a bit of writers block, I chose a random Ram Dass lecture to have on in the background, and the synchronicities just started flowing. They weren’t toward anything in particular…no light bulbs going off about what I’m supposed to do or say, just really interesting intersections of Ram saying the words that I was reading at that moment. I continued on with my usual “thank you” and “I’m listening”, and it just continued ramping up with more frequency and intensity. I was tinkering around with the post, changing dates here and there and after he said what I was reading several times within just a few minutes, I just stopped what I was doing and listened. He went down a path that helped me work through something I was thinking about earlier today, and I don’t know a single word he would have changed if he was right here speaking to me as an individual about the very thing I was working through. I started to get a bit emotional about how incredible the timing was and the words that penetrated my soul and everything about the situation, completely lost in bliss.

For a moment, I snapped out of it and realized, hey…this is nice and all, but you have things to do! Responsibilities! This post ain’t gonna write itself you know! Get back to the keyboard, son! Hiyah!! And so I sat up, bound and determined to write this thing so I could get it out before 5pm, and the thought became that of “aaahh…probably tomorrow” when it came to what Ram Dass was telling me. I instantly became fixated on one line in this post…a quote I’ve had on here for some months now… “Truth waits for eyes unclouded by longing”. Not 5 seconds later, Ram says that same quote and made my eyes wet.

I had been considering taking a day to just take it easy, work through some stuffs and be free of responsibility and obligation sometime this week, and I think that’s what I’m being told to do right now. Sometimes it comes in the form of whacky blood sugars or faulty internet, and sometimes it just comes from listening. So if you take anything from this, it’s to listen to yourself…your body, mind and spirit. Listen to the queues from the universe and from loved ones around you. And if something is nudging you to take some time for yourself, don’t be too harsh or judgmental about it. Everything will be alright (in fact, better) when you come back revitalized and refreshed <3

Thankfully, because of the past 2 weeks of ultimate flowness, I’m pretty well stocked and prepared for orders today and even have literally everything prepped and ready for whatever the dice may roll for you gamblers (err….non gamblers) out there. I’m going to hit the rest of this lecture, probably take a long walk, have a cup of tea and maybe a bath and will be ready to rip first thing tomorrow! Dice rolls will be rolled in the morning and I love you to the moon and back <3
