**If you’re new around these parts, I usually do an update on Wednesdays, blabbing about recent happenings, sharing thought nuggets and handing out some free goodies and cool promos. This is a special Friday edition due to my overambitious monkey brain thinking I could do everything my first day back. Normal class will return to session on Wednesdays again, starting on the 25th**

Happy last day of Gemini and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my beautiful mother!! Another solar return complete for that amazing angel. I love you mom! She doesn’t read these, but I know the energy will make it’s way to her. I sent her the pic of the lizard up above and she really liked it, so it’s staying in honor of her special day.

I am talking about my actual mother that birthed me, by the way, not my otha motha, @MrsTarkilnForager who continues to raise me. She reminded me yesterday that I am still far too ambitious trying to hit the ground running as soon as I got back from vacation. “You always leave room for a day or two when you return home”. Thanks ma….I’ll listen eventually. But boy was she right…I thought I was prepared and would just be able to get right into the swing of things the first day back. Alas, I didn’t expect a bagillion orders from Florida and a very overactive thinker when I got back! My heart really goes out to all the Florida peeps who are having to deal with the upcoming spore ban. Send those friends alllll the love please! Hopefully things will loosen up for y’all here soon.

I can’t say vacation went exactly according to plan, but it was exactly as it was supposed to be…beautiful in absolutely every way imaginable. I had plans to go to this music festival called Bonnaroo, with a few close friends and well…we did. We packed everything up, drove to the farm, unpacked, set everything up, got rained on, slipped around in the mud a bit (BIIIIIG SQUELCH) and they told us to go home due to future weather threats. Turns out they made the right call, because the entire farm flooded later that day and we would’ve certainly gotten stuck and/or floated away. That Milly&Co b2b SQUELCH b2b Rain was one helluva set though whheeeew!

I went to Bonnaroo back in 2019 (which really still seems like just a year or two ago…what the hell?!?) and had the time of my life with my best friends. I had made 3 other attempts to return since, but COVID squashed one of them, a hurricane took another, and it just wasn’t the right time for me on the 3rd so I backed out. There were 2 successful Roo’s after that, but I was well out of my festival phase at that point and didn’t have much interest to go. Honestly, I didn’t have much interest this year, but some force of energy told me I needed to go for some reason. There was no lineup and I didn’t know a single friend that was going when I got my ticket back in December…just a feeling. I kept joking that it wasn’t actually going to happen so…this one’s on me. I didn’t know if maybe I just needed time away that I wouldn’t have taken on my own accord or what. The farm really is a magical place that brings people together in the most unexpected ways. We didn’t get our festival, but we went with the flow (of water) and I’m absolutely certain I still had an equally fulfilling time without the lights and sounds. It’s the people that you’re with that make the experience great…Roo was just the excuse to get together.

This experience…some may say lack thereof, but I had the same amount of experience on vacation, just diverted…made me realize some things that I don’t think I would have if I stayed in my zone at home. I said before I left that I wanted to completely disconnect and just be in the moment while I was away instead of checking my phone for this or that. And what do you know…I sat there on day 1, grabbed my phone just to send out a short and sweet message on Discord as a farewell for a week and…my phone died. Not like the battery died….it actually perished. RIP phone. I mean I knew it was on it’s way out, so I brought a backup in case this would happen but c’mon….I got the hint…no phones. That was nice, universe. Very nice.

This alone started building back trust in myself that I had slowly lost along my way over the past few years. I can’t explain it, but for some reason it did. My phone passing away was just the first domino of the universe telling me I am where I’m supposed to be, let go of any and all attachment, go with the flow and just trust that this is the right path. After that point, nothing else really mattered. I was content, quite literally everything worked out perfectly, and not long after, I was able to feel again like I hadn’t been able to in a good long while. I realized that I had been closed off and too comfortable in my ultra infallible logical brain of mine (we all know this is not true) and that I was resisting anything that had a chance to peek into my heart center. I’m usually a pretty stubborn duderino, and it takes an out of service phone, a rainy muddy un-event and a metric ass-ton of emotion blasting into my Anahata to realize I was actually missing something. Again, nice work universe….very nice indeed <3
