Happy March, spore goobers!

And sickness begone!! Maaan that was a nasty one! I remember sitting down to write my post last week and my brain wasn’t working worth a damn, using all it’s energy to battle a bout of the flu…I gave up. But whenever I am on the mend, I get very excited for it to pass because I know a fresh new exciting take on life is just around the corner aaaand here we are! It’s like all my momentum and excitement and creativity are just building up to unleash when I’m healthy. Very thankful for good health today. And sunshine and fresh air and the whispers of Spring appearing all over the place! Gah…life is good.

Not to harp on the sickness…it’s over! But I did have some interesting observations about why I was sick in regard to the lessons I’ve been given lately. I was just coming off the whole chakra thing, feeling extremely balanced, centered and healthy. Certainly not a time where my immune system would be vulnerable to such an illness…impossible! Sure, we all get sick from time to time and maybe it was inevitable or I was just at the right place at the right time to contract something. But in my life, I wouldn’t put it past the universe to hand me a lesson and humble me when I’m proud of myself for making good decisions and doing “the right things”. It’s not easy to realize in the moment when you’re down, but if that was a lesson to show me humility, I’m grateful for being put in my place.

Alright…enough with the sick talk. But not enough with the lessons babble. Lessons are a positive, even if I don’t see them manifesting as such. One thing I have been *trying* to pick up on lately has been lessons in all forms. I spoke a few weeks ago on how lessons can present themselves in obvious ways or more subtle at times, and often repeat themselves until you grasp what’s needed. I’m not sure if I’m just tuning into these manifestations and being more aware recently or if the game has changed, but more often than not, when I look at someone, some thing, or some situation as a lesson when first going into it, the lesson becomes very obvious. Or my perspective of it is obvious. Something is obvious! I take that as either I need some obvious signs right now, or the universe is just skipping all the foreplay and getting straight to the point. Either way, I’m enjoying the new view and realization that there is something to be learned and a way to improve myself in so many facets of life…I just have to listen and observe.

One new practice I’ve incorporated into my routine recently has been starting and ending my days with gratitude. When I wake up, before I get out of bed and do cartwheels in my speedo and all the important morning shiz, I’ll just lay there and start thanking the universe for as many things as I can list. Thank you for the beautiful sunrise, for the roof over my head, my wonderful friends and all the exciting things I plan to accomplish that day. And when I go to bed, I reflect on the day and what all went down. Even the tough lessons that may have frustrated me, or any rude encounters or anything negative…all of it! Thank you for the opportunity to receive that lesson, even if I didn’t pass with flying colors. Thank you for this human experience and all the emotions and ups and downs that come along with it. If you’re truly grateful for ALL of this experience, it’s really tough to stay down and out about something.

Ok, last thing about the thanks…I don’t quite remember what on my mental list I fell asleep thanking last night, but one I got hung up on was being thankful for the Discord community. I was running through names of people I know well on Discord and some new friends I’ve met this week, and just grinned ear to ear thinking about how magically diverse this crowd is. People from all walks of life, all ages, shapes and sizes all just sharing little parts of their completely unique personality and it’s beautiful. The one thing we all have in common is love, the desire to learn and improve, and help others along the way. Thank you all so much for making it such a fun hang and amazing community!
