Spring has friggin sprung! Everywhere I look around here, something is blooming, budding and greening. Greening I say! Nature is just awesome 🙂 Sometimes when it’s cold and gloomy, I forget how much fresh air and sunshine do ya good, but now that I don’t have an excuse to not take walks, enjoy a park or venture on a nice long bike ride, I’m back to seeing the magic that is nature all around me, and it’s amazing 🙂

Over the past few weeks (besides the “too many sweets” fiasco of last week), I’ve touched on the topic of being “tuned in” or at the right place and right time type of stuffs. Man is that cool! Feeling like you received a very specific message, meant just for you, all because things just happened to align. Some call it synchronicity, some say it’s coincidence, or literally being tuned to the right frequency to pick up on such events, like tuning a radio.

I do believe frequency is a part of this “magic”. Being intentional about your practice and daily life can make you like a magnet to attract these occurrences. Following these subtle (or in some cases obvious) messages can strengthen them and cause them to appear more often or lead to a treasure hunt of life, just as ignoring those little whispers can dull them and send a message back that you’re not so serious about what is being received, or maybe that you don’t care that much to reflect on it.

Sometimes these messages, nudges or guides/clues come to me from close personal friends. Sometimes they’re from complete strangers. Sometimes they’re in song lyrics or pages from a book, a Ram Dass lecture or a podcast. Sometimes they’re in nature! But one thing I’ve noticed is that they always come when I’m tuned in. That’s not to say “hey, look at me. I meditated today, I did my grounding practice and yoga and blah blah blah. I hit all my marks today. I’m “tuned in”!” While I do strive to be diligent and consistent with my daily routine (key word: try), what I mean by “tuned in” here is mainly being aware. Not necessarily looking for such things, but just listening, with an open heart and open mind, to anything that may come your way. Appreciating the beauty in everyone and every thing, not judging, but loving with full acceptance simply because we are all one and you recognize that. I think when we go through life “tuned in” like that, just listening as an observer, we can pick up on those little magical moments.

I’m sure most of us around here have gone through a breakup that ooooooh, just hurts your heart and soul more than you even knew possible. You throw on a shuffle of one of your favorite playlists or turn on the radio, and suddenly every song was written for you, for this specific situation. Sometimes it helps you heal, sometimes it makes things hurt even more, sometimes you just cry. But you weren’t just off in space, not paying attention to the lyrics….you were “tuned in”.

I like to think of the almighty complex and magical ways of the universe observing me, saying, “he’s listening! HIT IT!” through whatever form I’m tuned into. When I’m big into a music discovery phase, a lot of those new tunes speak to me. When I’m big into books (which I should get back into!), I find the craziest absolutely bonkers shite right in front of my face. When I’m dissolved into loving bliss in conversation with a friend, they often say exactly what I’m thinking. No matter what medium, it happens when I’m tuned in- aware and listening with no agenda, objective or desire.

The universe is always aware and listening to you. When you’re deep into a passion and things just seem to flow through you, pay attention! Show gratitude when you find those little easter eggs. Follow through with what you receive. You’re thinking about how you haven’t talked to yo mama in a while and someone mentions their mama mid thought…I’d give that lovely woman a call. And if that voice in your head speaks up and tells you to do something that you know is good for ya, even if you don’t do it, at least acknowledge that it’s the path you should be on. Trust yourself. Love yourself. Be yourself. You are an amazing, one of a kind, beautiful being that deserves all that life has to offer, and you can share in this magical space just by being you and listening <3

NEW to the shop this week- CUBA cubensis syringes! I gave this one out a few months ago as a limited time Wednesday handout. A small spore print was given to me to share with the community, so I only had a few at the time, but it is now a permanent member of the spore library! This one doesn’t quite meet my qualifications for the “Funky Duck” pack, but I also wouldn’t say it’s a “traditional” cube. Super light in color, though not leucistic or albino and stunningly beautiful in many ways! I’d say this one is suitable for all experience levels.
