Hooty Hoo friends!

What an amazing week it has been! I’ve had some truly exquisite conversations lately with close friends that have deepened my practice and helped reconnect with my soul and it has been AWESOME! I’ve been able to go really deep through meditation and separate from my body and mind in a way I can only describe as pure consciousness, which has led to a slew of other amazing experiences outside of my friend group.

In the past, and not even distant past, but like…just a few weeks ago, I mentioned how leaning into synchronicities and speaking on them tends to shut it down real quick. It’s so easy to get excited about the little treasure hunts life sends your way or be so amazed at these incredible “coincidences” that all I want to do is tell others on a similar path. But I’ve realized it’s not the words that I speak that make those beautiful moments stop happening….it’s the attachment. Once I released all attachment to these situations, I was able to speak about it in as much detail as could be understood, and the magic still flowed. In the same way, I could also NOT speak of these things in an effort to keep them alive, and the attachment would slow their occurrences just as well. Attachment is one hell of a drug, dude!

Another theme that has presented itself this past week in the form of attachment has been “work”. Whatever that means to you. For a very long time, I was unintentionally attached to the completion of “work”. Whether that means doing yoga, cleaning tubs, prepping grains, physical activity…you name it. My attachment was giving me dopamine when said work was completed. Ahhh, how nice! There are far more unhealthy ways to get dopamine than by checking something off my list, so lets roll with it! But somewhere along the way, I realized that process WAS my work and there is no “completing” it. When I began doing the work with the mindset of “this is my life and my passion”, all preferences of how enjoyable each task was went out the window. There was no more “dang…more tubs to wash!” or “yippee, grain day!!”, but instead more of a “yippee, this is life!” feeling. Processes flowed better, time suddenly just seemed to be on my side, and I was just here, now, as it should be. Everything became more enjoyable down to what was once my least favorite thing to do.

I’m not sure if you’ve heard about this guy named Ram Dass…he’s a pretty rad dude. Pretty much all of the things I speak about on here stem from one of his lectures in one way or another. I used to throw on a lecture (sounds boring…hella not) from time to time when working around the house, and for whatever unintentional reason just stopped doing that as frequently. But one thing that I feel has made me enjoy those daunting tasks and reinvigorate a passion about “work” as a whole has been playing a Ram Dass Lofi channel on YouTube. Chill beats in the background, words to live by in the forefront. Almost impossible not to get lost in. Sometimes I’ll be doing whatever it is that I do (what even do I do around here?) and attentively listen to every word of a lecture. Other times, I’ll get 30 seconds in and it just brings me to that state where I follow a thought path and get lost in my own internal lecture. Either way, it’s an incredibly powerful and positive state of being and I highly recommend checking it out sometime!

One last theme I want to touch on is seeing everyone as yourself. Or seeing everyone as God, since we all originate from source. As I’ve had some really powerful reflections and realizations recently, I try to see the absolute unique beauty in every being. Not all days are like this mind you, but I try! Walking past a complete stranger without any judgement about how they look or their attitude or any type of motive, but just reflecting true love back at them with no expectation will promote connection, growth and help you learn, either from within yourself or through them. At least 3 different times this past week, I have had this thought run through my mind and intentionally connected with their soul with nothing but love, and in each case, it led to some magical discoveries about myself. A couple of those occasions led to the other person repeating back my exact thoughts to me from right before we met, verbiage and everything. Who is the sender and who is the receiver here? We met in tune to each other’s love frequency and we are one.
