G’day groovy groovsters!
You know those days when you see a certain theme or common word throughout the day? Yesterday, Jared Leto slithered his way into conversation on two separate occasions and monkeys had a presence in my orbit 3 other times. What do Jared Leto and monkeys have anything to do with anything at all? What lesson were they teaching me? Probably absolutely nothing. We just don’t know. Here’s what we do know: Today’s word is GROOVY and has already presented itself 3 times. And I am feelin’ pretty frickin’ groooovy on this groovetastic Wednesday and I hope you are too!
Integration has been a theme I’ve picked up on a lot this past week. Integrating new information into decision making, integrating healthy habits and good choices into your routine, integrating new friends into a close circle, integrating an experience into daily life. Integration can mean a lot of different things to different people, and is something I don’t touch on too often. I’ll focus on “the experience”.
The experience is fantastic in so many unimaginable ways, we all know this. But something I look forward to just as much, if not more than the experience itself, is the integration part. If we see what looks like Jared Leto dressed up like a monkey in a grain of wood, do we need to spend a week dissecting and analyzing what that could mean? Perhaps not. But also…perhaps. Some things are just goofy…even…dare I say it…groovy. And that’s what they’re meant to be. But some thought patterns can blossom and evolve into a more enriched and fulfilled life if you actually spend the time and effort on integration. If you can reflect on an interesting thought or theme, even if it’s uncomfortable, give it some consideration and work through it. You may be able to work through unresolved trauma or see where a thought or reaction stems from. Ask questions! Is that really who I am? Is that coming from a place of love or ego?
In almost every experience that I can recall, there’s been a moment or 3 or 100 where an energy fills my soul with a feeling of “hey, good job with xyz” or “lighten up, have fun! Life is too serious to be taken too seriously.” or even a gentle criticism, “hey, when did you stop doing xyz and why?”. When it comes to that last one, I treat it like a homework assignment of sorts. I now have a mission to improve that “xyz” part of my life. Whatever that is is likely a never-ending journey, but once significant improvements are made and I see that upward trajectory, I’m proud to enter into the next experience and say “Hey! I took your advice and look at me now! What’s next?”. Build upon that wisdom. Continue that momentum. If you “yeah, yeah, yeah….tomorrow” all the instructions you were given, don’t expect a new assignment.
The easiest and most effective time to put your new mindset into practice is now. The day after your experience is New Year’s Day. Set those new intentions and put it into practice. Will you be tested in the coming days/weeks? You better believe it. Will you pass them all? I’ll take a high chance of “NO” for 300, Alex. Some are easier to spot than others, but in my experience anyway, when you are aware of a test/lesson/guidance from the universe or whatever and you know what to do, doing the right things tends to lead to some pretty amazing things. Synchronicities, connections, being at the perfect place at the perfect time to receive what was meant for you. So incredibly beautiful. And facing those challenges but giving into your old desires and attachments generally leads to those hurdles popping up over and over and over again. They may manifest themselves in different forms or the same form in different situations. But if you’re on the hunt for them, you see pop quizzes all over the place. Whether pass or fail, I like to think back to that experience and give a sincere “thank you”. Mentally, verbally….just give thanks. Appreciate the strength you were given to navigate that course with flying colors and appreciate the awareness and free will you have when you fail because that’s what makes us human and what makes life beautiful. Just keep trying <3

But I loved seeing the squad represent on all notebooks, tubs, Clancy’s trailer and the Bushwhacker trailer, a Ford Focus, and I was kidding when I suggested this but…literally someone’s mom’s forehead. And to the right of that, my (adopted) mom! Amazing.

As for the new new, well…I warned ya last week that we wouldn’t have much new to roll out, but I do have one little surprise that I know a few of you will gush over! There’s only a small handful of these guys left, but BAPER is now back in the library in swab packs only! A few recent requests have been located and will make an appearance in due time. Patience young grasshopper!
Also, thanks to Incorrigibleone, UnderdogArtisan, and MrsTarkilnForager and the entire art department over there, we’re even closer to having some actual wearable merch up in the shop. The pins and spoobies/boobensis prints were to bide some time and the time has been bided! Exciting things to come 🙂
