One pound of the finest perfectly hydrated and sterilized grains in a wide mouth quart mason jar with modified lid.

Plastic lid is autoclavable (able to be pressure cooked and reused) and comes ready to inoculate with SHIP (self healing injection port) and 0.22 micron filter for gas exchange.

Our current favorite grain is milo/sorghum, but we are ALWAYS experimenting with different grains and additives to see what works best for each species, and encourage you to do the same!

Grains are sorted and rinsed, soaked for 12 hours and cooked to the perfect moisture content for quickest colonization and most robust growth. Autoclaved at 15psi for 2.5 hours to ensure sterility and promptly double sealed.
