HEART CHAKRA Wyco Wednesday is postponed to Wednesday Feb 4 due to a bout of the flu! I thought I would wake up feeling like a million dollars today, but the universe had other plans and is urging me to take it easy at least for another day.

I considered making a write up for HEART CHAKRA week, without any deals, sales and whatnot to try and reduce the workload a bit, but Millybrain is not operating anywhere near full capacity and I don’t want to half ass the chakra I’m most excited about.

Bust out those banana hammocks and get ready to brighten up your being with the SOLAR PLEXUS chakra this week my friends, we’re doing all things yellow! Besides yellow snow….maybe put that down.

Each week we do this, I reflect a bit on previous years going through the chakras. I mentioned how sometimes I get really serious with it and other times it’s more relaxed and chill. No matter where you are on this spectrum, I think it’s immensely important to have fun with it and be your most authentic self. Life is too serious to be taken too seriously!

The SOLAR PLEXUS chakra is the third main chakra, located just below your chest. If you haven’t noticed, it’s color is yellow (“Chicken soup yellow” according to @BingoSmoke) and it shines oh so bright! Or at least that’s the goal! Picture a bright yellow ball of energy radiating from this energy center in the core of your body. During meditation or any breathwork practices you do, or just any time throughout the day that you take a moment to take a deep breath and bring your awareness to this chakra, visualize this little sun growing brighter and larger, consuming your entire body. Every exhale, you are extracting and dumping anything working against opening your third chakra. Deliberately think thoughts, say words and take actions that strengthen your solar plexus.

The Manipura, or solar plexus chakra, is what governs power in your body. It is your inner source of will power, confidence and motivation. When your solar plexus is bright and open, your self esteem and personal empowerment are rockin’ so hard. We feel calm, peaceful, and are in tune with our genuine selves. We trust ourselves with decision making that truly aligns with our goals and work off of the momentum that is created. We have strong relationships with ourselves and others, and act with honest and integrity. Being one of the chakras in the middle of the system, it is a balance between the spiritual and material worlds.

If our solar plexus is out of balance, we may feel inadequate, or have something to prove, and feel the need control everything. We may have issues with trust, fear or trouble pertaining to power and ego. Ego is a hot topic, especially in the psychedelic community. We hear talk of “destroying your ego” and “ego death” all the time, but it’s all about balance. You absolutely need an ego to live and get by….to make decisions and trust yourself. But if your attachment to power and control overinflate that ego, that can close off and weaken your solar plexus just as much as having none at all. When our solar plexus is aligned, we can use that healthy balance of power and ego to truly live our soul’s life purpose.

Any opening, balancing and aligning of the previous two chakras are sending energy to your solar plexus chakra in full force. If this chakra is dull or closed off, energy will not be able to pass up through your spine and into your higher chakras. This goes for any of the 7 chakras, but ESPECIALLY for the solar plexus…GET MOVIN’! The chakras are all about the flow of energy in our bodies. Energy in your body can become stagnant, and physical movement will allow this energy to move freely and awaken other pockets of energy that are just chillin’ with nowhere to go.

Yoga is a very useful tool this week, helping move around energy that may be blocked. And with the solar plexus focusing on movement and power, any pose that makes you feel like the badass warrior that you are…anything that ignites a fire inside of you and moves around energy is going to be key this week. Cat/cow poses, boat/half boat or anything that hits that solar plexus and makes you feel it in your core are great. I added a handful of amazing short guided yoga videos on the YouTube playlist linked at the end of the post. Getting out in the sun and absorbing some of those sweet rays will supercharge your solar plexus! Do some perennial sunning and tan your 4th eye while you’re at it. Or sun salutations…that works too.

Savasana is probably my favorite part of a good yoga session. Once you’ve done all your poses and stretches, loving yourself and giving thanks, lay flat on your back and just feel the energy flow through your body. Fell your whole body grounded and alive. I usually feel a sensation for a specific area to be cracked, and just lean ever so slightly in that direction to get that nice relaxing POP! I also like to grab a crystal representing that chakra to put on that part of my body. The crystals associated with the solar plexus chakra are yellow citrine, yellow topaz, amber, yellow agate, and my favorite rock of all time besides Dwayne Johnson, TIGER’S EYE!

Breathwork is another useful method for moving energy, and if practiced, can be quite the psychedelic journey. I hadn’t done something called the “Breath of Fire” for quite a while until I revisited this chakra, and not too long into it, I was saying “oh…we’re going places ok”. Fire is also the element of the sacral chakra! THIS video is a great tutorial on the breath of fire by a really amazing yogi named Adriene. I only added the chakra yoga videos from Nico on the playlist, but Adriene is equally fantastic and you should definitely check her channel out! I like to do breathwork exercises right after meditation, and cup my hands holding a crystal at the location of the chakra I’m working on.

Essential oils and incense can absolutely change the energy and entire vibe of your space. 10/10 recommend. The scents that corospond with the solar plexus chakra are lemon, lavender, chamomile, rosewood and rosemary. I like to take a small dab of these oils and use it on my collar and beard, and when I get a whiff through the day, it helps bring awareness to the solar plexus. Add a dab to your solar plexus too! Dab it up!

Anything that helps you bring your awareness to that chakra will help open and strengthen it. Any yellow foods you eat or yellows you see out in the wild or yellow clothes that you wear all add to your intention of aligning this chakra and letting that sun shine bright. The mantra of the solar plexus chakra is RAM. Chanting this, or slowly saying it with a low hum during meditation can help blast open that solar plexus.

Go about your business this week with CONFIDENCE knowing you are making the best decisions you can, leading you to your ultimate purpose in life. Don’t take shit from anyone trying to get in your way or put you down and be your authentic self! If they don’t like it, they don’t deserve all this amazing love energy you have to spread around, as you should and as you do! YOU GOT THIS!! I love you <3

McKennaii is back in the shop after a long break! This one absolutely meets my criteria for a “funky duck”, not just because it’s from the infamous McKenna bros, but also because it often gives some pretty interesting mutations! The regular fruits are stunning as well. Great all around…probably medium on the experience scale.
