Happy Sacral Week!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful week of grounding with the root chakra! Each time I’ve gone through the chakras like this, I’ve learned more about them, about myself, and have been blessed to see some amazing connections made in the community because of it. Up until this week, I only had one book on chakras, and was definitely in need of an upgrade in that department. Shout out @BingoSmoke for sending a much more comprehensive and enlightening read with a new book a few days ago! This (I believe) stems from @D4SH1T sharing a pic with the community of this book his mom gave him right when we kicked off the chakra series (unknowingly!). Also quick shout out to @ConradCulpepper for getting that man into the hobby and over to the Discord squad! Pretty much shout out everyone…we’re all connected and I see that more than even while going through the chakras. In past years, I’ve set a goal to be diligent for a week at a time, one on each chakra, and at the end of the week, reflect on the journey and assess whether I wanted to progress to the next chakra or spend some more time on it. I’ve taken some years more seriously, when I felt like I needed to be serious, and other years I’ve been more relaxed with the practice when I just needed to chill out maaan. This year for me feels like it needs to be somewhere in between and I’m looking forward to the next month or so of balance with you all! I hope you can take something from it and find your own practices and healthy habits. Thanks for following along on the journey!

Last week, we covered the ROOT chakra, governing grounding, security, survival and stability, and now we’re moving right on up to the SACRAL chakra! The Sacral chakra is located just below your umbilical cord socket, and is primarily responsible for our creativity and sexuality (bow chicka wow wowwww!). Our emotional well-being is governed by this energy center. We can feel indulgent and reactive when the sacral chakra is out of harmony, making it difficult to express and communicate our feelings and feeling shut down. We feel guilt, push blame on others, and have issues with power. But when the sacral chakra is balanced and in alignment OOOOOOH BUDDY we’re flowin’ and groovin’ and everybody in town knows it! Relationships are blossoming, we feel connected to others and to the emotional aspects of our sexuality, we express our creativity and passion, and are excited for what life has in store.

The goal for each of the chakras is balance. For instance, when dealing with sexuality or power with the sacral chakra, suppressed libido can be just as unbalance as an overactive libido if urges are not controlled. The balance with power can be off if you’re unwillingly submitting just as much as if your ego is inflated and you desire control. When all chakras aligned and balanced, some pretty magical things start to happen. You create the world around you. Synchronicities abound! Our mind, body and spirit are connected, trust each other, and work together for peace, abundance and happiness.

The element associated with the sacral chakra is water. I know I haven’t been drinking enough water lately, so this is a great reminder to get back to my chuggin’ ways. I notice a night and day difference in sleep quality and energy throughout the day when I’m drinking mucho water. I say that after coming back from the grocery store with a bunch of orange drinks, but I swear I’ll drink more water! I must! Instead of saying “I need to drink less of this or that” or “do less of this”, I try to ADD a healthy habit into my practice, like drinking water. Naturally, the coffee/soda/beer or whatever you’re trying to rid will see itself out. And each time I grab a snack or make a meal that has some orange in it, I bring my awareness to my sacral chakra center, take a deep breath in and give thanks for the food, my life, and the ability to FEEL. I try to do this with any oranginess I come across out in the wild. Not hard to do in Austin since construction is EVERYWHERE.

The sacral chakra has a couple of good mantras tied to it. The traditional, eastern mantra is VAM, which is an excellent low humming chant you can work into your meditation practice. The mantras “I am” and “I feel” are great mantras for the sacral chakra as well. You can expand those however you see fit for your practice. “I am successful”, “I feel healthy”, or even just “I feel FEELINGS!” We are human peoples. We don’t feel great all the time and that’s fine. That’s normal. And I know it’s difficult in that moment when you don’t feel so hot, but just having the ability to feel and connect with that part of yourself deep down inside is a blessing and should be appreciated. Try not to be attached to any of these feelings, “good” or “bad”…just let them go on your exhale with ultimate gratitude.

Over the years, I’ve tried taking some of the ancient eastern teachings surrounding the chakras, and incorporating a bit of my own spin on some of the practices to make them my own. Some are not Buddha approved and are downright goofy, but that’s me. For instance, I have a post-yoga routine where I give myself a hug during a stretch while saying “I love you”, pat myself on the back with another, flick sprinkles of love like hands of a clock while making my own mantras and do a nice jiggy dance to finish it off. I say “Thank You” as a mantra whenever I see nature, assemble the little goodie bags for orders, and end the day thinking about people and things in my life that I appreciate. And ALWAYS end the day saying aloud “Thank you. I love you. Tomorrow is going to be friggin’ amazing!” Anything that brings your awareness back to the sacral chakra, being in touch with your feelings and appreciation for life is a little W you can add to your day…and they do compound.

Thanks to @Smushem and @TheMycoVet nudging me about reusable agar plates, we now have REUSABLE AGAR PLATES woot woot!! My dish supplier was out for the longest time and they reminded me to check back with them. I assumed they would be here sometime next week, but for once they landed super early!

PE99 was once only available in swab packs, but a couple swabs that loved each other very much ended up gettin’ jiggy wit it and made a bunch of spore syringes! These may be just for a short time, but PE99 syringes are in ze shop!

Wednesdays are super fun an exciting around here, and I appreciate all the love and support as always! I also appreciate the understanding and patience, as things can get busy sometimes!
