Q: What is Wyco Wednesday?

A: It is the day each week that new products are released and inventory is updated. Products will be unavailable for a few hours before the end of the countdown. Usually from 3pm – 5pm CST. Usually (not always) there will be a promotion for a free lab sample given to the first 20 or so orders after the update each Wednesday. Check the MW subreddit for more info on contests and promotions!

Q: These lab samples look pretty interesting, but what all is included with the purchase of a Lab sample?

A: All lab samples come with a 12ml microscopy sample of the stated variety. These really do look pretty neat under the microscope! I do not have prints or swabs available at the moment, but hope to offer them in the near future. Message me if you’d like more info 🙂

Q: Which payment methods do you take?

A: You can always pay with any major credit/debit card at checkout on the site, or choose “manual payment” for instructions on how to pay with Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bitcoin, and if all else fails, I can take Amazon gift cards 🙂 Unfortunately, PayPal is really the only major one I can’t do at the moment. They aren’t as thrilled with this whole spore thing as you guys are 🙁

Q: How should I store any lab samples I’m not going to use for a while?

A: The best way to store them is in the refrigerator. While this isn’t necessary unless you’re storing long term, it will do the best job of protecting them from degrading. They will literally outlast you if stored in the fridge…we’re talking generations here! A close myco buddy of mine pulled out a sample he had in a junk drawer from college 8 years ago, with no special care at all and it worked perfectly! Even if stored in room temp, away from heat and light, they’ll be good for at least 6 months.

Q: You only have a couple different pricing options to choose from, and what I’m looking for doesn’t fall into one of them. What gives?

A: Let’s talk! I’m all about working with you on a unique order, whether custom made samples of any kind, larger orders, exotics only, or whatever your little heart desires. Shoot me an email or chat on the site, and I can create a custom coupon code for your order!

Q: I’m a returning mycologist who already left a review on my previous order. I am now a best friend for life. Any discounts for me, boss?

A: Of course my (best) friend! Unfortunately, my web store does not allow the use of multiple coupon codes which complicates things. We’re working on a solution, but for now, you’ll have to message me to create a custom coupon code for your order so you get a discount.

Q: I see you’re out of stock on a lot of varieties I was interested in! Will these be coming back any time soon?

A: Absolutely! I make a post on Reddit and restock the store’s inventory every Wednesday at 5PM CST. I usually restock most of the favorites that sell out pretty quick, and try to regularly add 2-3 new varieties EVERY WYCO WEDNESDAY! Please keep in mind that a lot of these varieties go pretty quick. When I post them on Wednesday at 5:00, about half are sold out by 5:00 on Thursday. First come first served!

Q: How is shipping going during all this COVID madness?

A: So far, pretty well, but not as consistent as it was before all of this. Any orders placed by midnight will ALWAYS ship out the following morning at 10AM. USUALLY USPS updates tracking online at that time, giving an ETA for delivery. Occasionally, packages will miss a scan or have delayed tracking info until it loads onto the truck to the main hub, or in some cases, doesn’t update until it is out for delivery. This is out of my control, and I promise your order will get to you as soon as possible! Please have patience with our lovely postal employees who are on the front lines of a pandemic, and are working very hard to provide the top-notch service we know and love.

Also, USPS is facing a possible shutdown if they don’t get more funding! Show your postal employees some love and send a letter! Buy a book of stamps or something to keep them going! My rates from UPS, FedEx, and DHL are over double the cost of USPS and I would hate to see them go away.

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: I’m just starting to get into international shipping! I’m working on getting an ETA for delivery on all international orders, but for now, please allow 10-14 days to receive your order. I have successfully shipped to Canada and Australia, so I know there are no customs issues there, but I am willing to ship to any country where active spores for microscopy use is legal. 
There is currently a list of countries that are not accepting shipments from the US due to COVID-19 (such as India), limiting my reach. I will periodically update my list as things go back to normal for shipping. If you do not see your country listed, please send me a chat on the site, an email, or message on Reddit, and I’ll check on legality and shipping rates for you 🙂

Q: What do you do with your tips?

A: I take them to the casino, of course! Hahaha just kidding…I use tips to help out anyone who may not be in the best spot financially, but would still like to get into the hobby. I also use tip money to cover fees I incur and buy supplies so I can add in little surprises in some orders. I change up what I do on a pretty regular basis, but I always like to include a little something extra with each order. Sometime it’s just a few pieces of candy, and others I’ll throw in a custom made bracelet, stickers, some mushroom related trinkets, or even a book from time to time! My tip fund makes this possible and keeps things fun 🙂
